iQOO has announced the OriginOS 7 rollout schedule for India, covering 13 smartphones, with updates planned from late October 2026 to late February 2027. The announcement was shared by iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya on X on 11 October 2026. OriginOS 7 is based on Android 17 and was unveiled globally by parent company vivo on 21 September 2026.
For iQOO users, the key questions are simple: Is your phone eligible for the OriginOS 7 update? When can you expect it? And which new features will your device support? The rollout is spread across several months, and the availability of individual features may vary by model.
As technology experts with over 20 years of experience in hardware and application research and development, we analyse products based on real-world performance, durability, and value for money. Our goal is to help readers choose the right products for their needs, whether they prioritise budget, performance, reliability, or long-term use. Our recommendations draw on research, component analysis, real-world usability, and industry expertise.
This guide covers the iQOO OriginOS 7 update schedule in India, the 13 eligible smartphones, and the features users can expect. We distinguish between officially confirmed details, including the published rollout windows, and expected or unverified information, such as exact release dates for individual models and feature availability across devices. Since iQOO has announced rollout months rather than specific dates, the actual update may reach eligible phones at different times. We identify details that still require confirmation so readers can make informed decisions without confusing estimates with official announcements.
OriginOS 7: what it is, and how it relates to Android 17
OriginOS 7 is vivo’s Android-based operating system, built on Android 17, which Google released in stable form on 16 June 2026. It adds vivo’s interface and features to the Android platform. An eligible iQOO phone that receives OriginOS 7 therefore moves to Android 17 and OriginOS 7; depending on its launch software, this may represent more than one Android version upgrade. See Google’s official Android 17 release notes.
That distinction matters for two reasons. First, Android 17 provides Google’s platform-level changes, but individual Android features can depend on the device and the manufacturer’s implementation. Second, vivo states that feature availability within OriginOS 7 “may vary depending on device model, software version, country and region,” so the Android 17 base is common to all 13 devices while the vivo/iQOO feature set on top of it is not guaranteed to be identical.
For Indian iQOO owners, this is also a branding change on some models. The iQOO 13, iQOO 12 and iQOO Neo9 Pro shipped in India on Funtouch OS; the OriginOS 7 update moves them onto the OriginOS branding used by the iQOO 15, iQOO 15R and the current Z series.
OriginOS 7 features announced by vivo
The feature names below are taken from vivo’s OriginOS 7 product page and its published announcements. Performance figures are vivo’s own laboratory claims, not independently measured results. Source: vivo OriginOS 7 feature page
Performance and system behaviour
- Origin Smooth Engine — vivo describes a redesign of graphics computation, memory management and system scheduling.
- Ultra-Core Computing — dynamic allocation of processing resources during gaming, heavy multitasking and long video sessions. vivo claims app cold-start time is 10% shorter and app page switching 11% faster than on OriginOS 6.
- Memory Fusion — vivo claims 60% faster memory reclamation, and up to 25 GB of additional usable storage on a 256 GB device.
- Dual Rendering — a new rendering pipeline; vivo claims 4% higher rendering efficiency.
- Fluid Motion and Spring Animation — liquid-style animation applied across more than 200 scenarios, with transitions that respond to the pace and direction of finger input rather than fixed timers.
- Snap-Up Engine — prioritises compute and network traffic during ticket-purchase flows, from tap through payment to vivo lists it as available only on select models and in specific third-party apps.
- Seamless Interaction — reduced response latency when switching between third-party apps and during sustained scrolling.
Multitasking and cross-device work
- Origin Workbench — runs up to five active applications in one task space, with cross-app drag-and-drop. vivo says it is available on supported devices with at least 12 GB of RAM, so lower-memory variants of the iQOO 15R, Neo and Z series may not support it.
- Office Kit — cross-device camera sharing, notes, task handoff, file transfer and cross-system file access.
- Shake & Share — one-to-many, cross-brand file transfer without mobile data.
- Apple device support — Apple Watch connectivity is planned for a future over-the-air update and is limited to supported iQOO models and regions; AirPods status and iCloud access also depend on device and regional support.
AI tools
- Jovi — vivo’s cross-device AI agent, able to find information, read and distil file content, run scheduled tasks and act across a connected phone and PC. Key actions are logged and sensitive actions require user confirmation.
- Snap Note — converts photographs of whiteboards, handwritten notes, slides and mind maps into editable rich-text documents.
- Snap & Go — identifies travel details and event tickets in screenshots and suggests adding them to the calendar through Origin Island.
- AI Recorder — speaker recognition, transcript outlines, transcript refinement and summaries, with templates for meetings, lectures and interviews. vivo says transcription combines Microsoft Teams cloud speech technology with Google Gemini.
- Smart Call Assistant — AI Call Answering takes a call the user cannot answer and converts the conversation to text; a Call Overview summary is written into the call log.
- AI Search — finds files and notes from a description of their content rather than an exact filename, across File Manager and Origin Notes.
- AI Reader Mode — reformats PDF text to fit the screen.
Personalisation and security
- Dynamic Glow, Dynamic Translucent Material (Realistic, Natural and Soft styles), Wiggle Theme, Glint Theme, Pet Pals Theme and StickIt stickers.
- Security Shield — protection across device, apps, communications, network and financial assets, including unsafe-link and spam-call handling, insecure Wi-Fi protection and permission controls.
- Jovi Security — transparency and confirmation prompts for agent-driven actions performed through a PC.
Complete iQOO India rollout schedule
The table below reproduces the schedule iQOO India published. iQOO has given month-level windows rather than specific dates, and the company notes that the schedule does not cover carrier-exclusive units. Cross-check: iQOO Community rollout post and independent reporting
| Rollout window | Eligible models |
| End of October 2026 | iQOO 15 |
| Mid-November 2026 | iQOO 15R, iQOO 13 |
| Mid-December 2026 | iQOO 12, iQOO Neo 10, iQOO Neo 10R |
| End of January 2027 | iQOO Neo9 Pro, iQOO Z11 5G, iQOO Z11x 5G, iQOO Z11xa 5G, iQOO Z10 5G, iQOO Z10R 5G |
| End of February 2027 | iQOO Z10x 5G |
Two naming notes. iQOO’s own India site writes the 2024 mid-ranger as iQOO Neo9 Pro without a space, although most coverage writes “Neo 9 Pro”. And the Z-series entries carry a 5G suffix in the published schedule, as they do on iQOO India’s own site and e-store; dropping the suffix would leave the model names ambiguous against iQOO’s Z-series variants in other markets.
This is the India list, not the global one
China runs on a separate and earlier schedule. There, OriginOS 7 began reaching the iQOO 15 Ultra, iQOO 15, iQOO 15T, iQOO Neo11 Ultimate Edition, iQOO Neo11 and iQOO Pad6 Pro from 9 October 2026, with the iQOO 13 and iQOO Neo10 series following from 29 October 2026. Devices on the Chinese list — the iQOO 15 Ultra, iQOO 15T and iQOO Neo11 among them — are not part of the Indian schedule, and no Indian availability has been announced for them. Buyers comparing update promises across markets should check the list for the country where the phone was purchased.
The iQOO 16 sits outside this schedule
The iQOO 16 is the first iQOO phone to ship with OriginOS 7 pre-installed, so it does not appear in the upgrade list. It launched in China on 29 September 2026. iQOO has indicated that an Indian launch is planned, but the exact Indian launch date, configuration list and price remain unannounced as of 17 October 2026.
The official Chinese specification page lists a 6.85-inch Samsung 2K AMOLED display using M16 luminescent material (3,168 × 1,440) with a refresh rate up to 165 Hz; a 2 nm platform that vivo’s Chinese page names as the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition (the English marketing name is not independently confirmed, and the page identifies the GPU only as Adreno); an 8,400 mAh typical-capacity lithium battery with 100 W wired and 40 W wireless charging; three 50 MP rear cameras, including a 1/1.3-inch main sensor and a periscope telephoto, plus a 32 MP front camera; and Wi-Fi 7. Chinese pricing runs from CNY 5,999 (12 GB + 256 GB) to CNY 8,499 (16 GB + 1 TB). Official source: vivo China specifications
These are Chinese-market specifications and prices. The Chinese specification page does not establish the Indian configuration, price or launch date. Chinese pricing converts only approximately and should not be treated as a forecast of the Indian price.
Hardware comparison: iQOO 15 and iQOO 13
The iQOO 15 and iQOO 13 are the two number-series flagships in the Indian schedule, and they are separated by one generation of silicon. Specifications below are the Indian-market versions.

Three points follow from the table. The display sizes differ — 6.85 inches for the iQOO 15 and 6.82 inches for the iQOO 13. The iQOO 15 lists 2,600 nits of global brightness and up to 6,000 nits of local peak brightness; the iQOO 13 lists 1,800 nits in high-brightness mode and up to 4,500 nits of local peak brightness. Both camera systems have three 50 MP rear cameras, but only the iQOO 15 has a periscope telephoto. The update commitments differ by one Android upgrade and two years of security updates, a meaningful distinction for anyone planning to keep a phone beyond 2029. Official iQOO 15 specifications and iQOO 13 listing
Both devices start at 12 GB of RAM in their Indian configurations.
Pricing in India
Prices move with sales and colour-way availability, so the two categories below are kept separate.
Official launch prices (India, at time of launch)
- iQOO 15, launched 26 November 2025: ₹72,999 for 12 GB + 256 GB and ₹79,999 for 16 GB + 512 GB. A launch offer of ₹7,000 — taken either as an instant bank discount on ICICI, Axis or HDFC cards or as an exchange bonus — plus a ₹1,000 coupon brought the effective starting price to ₹64,999. Those were promotional figures, not the standing price.
- iQOO 13, launched 3 December 2024: ₹54,999 for 12 GB + 256 GB and ₹59,999 for 16 GB + 512 GB, with a ₹3,000 launch bank discount.
Currently listed prices (India, at the time of writing, 17 October 2026)
- iQOO 15 on the official iQOO India e-store: ₹85,999 for the 12 GB + 256 GB Apex colour (listed MRP ₹92,999) and ₹93,999 for the 16 GB + 512 GB Alpha colour (listed MRP ₹1,12,999). Price varies by colour. Official store listing
- iQOO 13 on the official iQOO India e-store: ₹61,999 for 12 GB + 256 GB, shown as sold out at the time of Indian price trackers list the 12 GB + 256 GB configuration at roughly ₹54,998 to ₹54,999 through third-party retailers. Official store listing
Two cautions apply. Sale prices during festival promotions are not the standard price and should not be read as such. And Chinese pricing for the iQOO 16 is not an Indian price; the Indian figure is unannounced.
What owners can realistically expect
Feature availability will not be uniform. vivo’s own India release states that features vary by device model, software version, country and region, and several entries in its feature list carry footnote-level restrictions. The practical consequences for iQOO’s Indian line-up:
- Origin Workbench is available only on supported devices with at least 12 GB of RAM. The iQOO Z11x 5G (6 GB + 128 GB) and iQOO Z11xa 5G (8 GB + 128 GB) should not be assumed to support five-app multitasking. The 8 GB iQOO 15R and lower-RAM Neo variants may also be excluded.
- The Snap-Up Engine is listed as available on select models and within specific third-party apps.
- Snap Note is listed as available only on select devices, in select countries or regions, and in select languages.
- Apple-device integration depends on region and model support.
Older hardware gets the interface, not necessarily the same headroom. The iQOO 12 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3), iQOO Neo9 Pro (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) and the Z-series MediaTek Dimensity models will run the same OriginOS 7 build family as the iQOO 15, but on-device AI workloads and sustained animation performance depend on the chipset and RAM in each phone. Neither iQOO nor vivo has published a per-model feature matrix for India, so specific capabilities on specific models remain to be confirmed once builds ship.
Wait times are real for the later waves. Owners of the six devices in the January 2027 window and the iQOO Z10x 5G in the February 2027 window are looking at roughly three to four months from the start of the rollout, before any regional variation.
One structural benefit for older models: At launch, the iQOO 13 was promised four Android upgrades and five years of security updates. In February 2025, iQOO extended the iQOO 12’s original policy from three to four generations of OS updates and from four to five years of security updates. The iQOO Neo9 Pro’s original commitment was three Android upgrades and four years of security updates. OriginOS 7 is based on Android 17; for the iQOO 12, which launched on Android 14, this is not the final Android version covered by its extended four-generation OS-update commitment. Android 17 rollout context across other brands
iQOO is neither first nor last to Android 17 in India. The table compares reported rollout milestones; check each manufacturer’s latest announcement for current availability.
| Brand and skin | Android 17 milestone |
| Google (Pixel, stock Android 17) | Stable released 16 June 2026 to Pixel 6 and later |
| Samsung One UI 9 | Shipped on Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 from 22 July 2026; stable rollout to Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra began 16 September 2026 in South Korea, reaching India and other markets from 29 September 2026 |
| Oppo ColorOS 17 | ColorOS 17 was announced globally on 13 October 2026 and is set to debut on the upcoming Find X10 series, with additional OPPO devices receiving the update progressively |
| vivo OriginOS 7 | India announcement 6 October 2026; stable rollout end of October 2026 to end of February 2027, beginning with the vivo X Fold 5 and X300 series |
| iQOO OriginOS 7 | India schedule published 11 October 2026; end of October 2026 to end of February 2027 |
| Xiaomi HyperOS | Android 17 builds reported on the Xiaomi 17 series from mid-July 2026; a wider HyperOS rollout has been reported but is not confirmed here |
The comparison is about timing, not feature equivalence. Each skin implements Android 17 differently, so rollout dates alone do not establish feature parity with OriginOS 7.
Who this update is relevant to
If you own an iQOO 15, iQOO 15R or iQOO 13, your phone is in one of the first two rollout windows. The iQOO 15 and iQOO 13 start at 12 GB of RAM, while the iQOO 15R also has an 8 GB variant. The iQOO 15 carries the longest support commitment iQOO has published for an Indian model: five Android upgrades and seven years of security updates from launch.
If you own an iQOO 12, iQOO Neo 10 or iQOO Neo 10R, the mid-December 2026 window applies. The iQOO Neo 10 (Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, launched in India on 26 May 2025 from ₹31,999) is sold in 8 GB, 12 GB and 16 GB configurations, and the iQOO Neo 10R (Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, launched 11 March 2025 from ₹26,999) in 8 GB and 12 GB. The 12 GB and 16 GB Neo 10 variants and the 12 GB Neo 10R variant meet the stated RAM threshold for Origin Workbench, although actual support still depends on device and software compatibility. The iQOO 12 launched in December 2023 on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. iQOO extended its support policy in February 2025 to four generations of OS updates and five years of security updates, so OriginOS 7 is not its final promised Android upgrade. iQOO support-policy source
If you own an iQOO Neo9 Pro or a Z-series model, expect the update at the end of January or February 2027, and check the RAM in your specific configuration before assuming Origin Workbench will be available. The iQOO Z11xa 5G, launched in India on 7 September 2026 at ₹28,999 for 8 GB + 128 GB, carries a commitment of two Android upgrades and four years of security updates, so OriginOS 7 accounts for one of the two platform upgrades promised at launch and leaves one remaining.
If you are buying a new phone and want OriginOS 7 on day one, the iQOO 16 is the model to watch: it launched in China with OriginOS 7 pre-installed, but it is not yet a confirmed day-one option for Indian buyers. As of 17 October 2026, its Indian launch date, configuration list and price have not been announced. Devices already on sale in India — the iQOO 15 and iQOO 15R — ship with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and are scheduled to receive OriginOS 7 by update.
Bottom line
iQOO’s Indian OriginOS 7 schedule covers 13 models across four series, starts with the iQOO 15 by the end of October 2026 and ends with the iQOO Z10x 5G by the end of February 2027. The update brings Android 17 to devices whose launch commitments did not all cover it and adds announced performance, multitasking and AI features. The schedule places iQOO’s rollout in the same broad period as other Android 17-based software updates, but timing alone does not establish feature parity between brands.
Three things remain open. iQOO has not published exact dates within each monthly window, has not published a per-model feature matrix for India, and has not announced the Indian price or launch date for the iQOO 16. Owners should check Settings > System > Update as their window approaches and confirm feature availability against their specific model and configuration rather than against the series as a whole.
